Copying Instagram links is useful for:
- Sharing your profile on other platforms
- Saving post links for later reference
- Creating link collections for marketing campaigns
- Cross-platform promotion
- Research and competitor analysis
- Bulk link extraction for social media management

Method 1: Copy Your Instagram Profile Link

Copying your own Instagram profile link in the browser:

Step 1: Go to instagram.com and open your profile
Step 2: Copy the URL from your browser's address bar (format: instagram.com/yourusername)

Alternative: Right-click on your profile picture or username and select "Copy link address."

Method 2: Copy Instagram Post Link

To copy a link to a specific Instagram post in Chrome:

Step 1: Open the post on instagram.com in your browser
Step 2: Copy the URL from the address bar, or right-click on the post and select "Copy link address"

Method 3: Copy Link from Instagram Comments

To copy a link shared in an Instagram comment:

Step 1: Find the comment with the link on instagram.com
Step 2: Right-click on the link
Step 3: Select "Copy link address"

Note: Some links in comments may be shortened or embedded; the copied link will be the actual destination URL.

Method 4: Copy Instagram Story Link

On desktop, when you open an Instagram story in your browser, the story URL appears in the address bar:

Step 1: Open the story on instagram.com
Step 2: Copy the URL from the address bar

Note: Story links expire after 24 hours (unless saved as a highlight). Use the link before it expires.

[PRO] Method 5: Extract Multiple Instagram Links (Link Grabber Chrome extension)

The Link Grabber Chrome extension runs in Chrome browser on desktop and gives you several ways to collect many Instagram URLs at once:

- Grab using selection — You can Grab Links from Selection to get links from a chosen area or from selected raw text (see section below).
- Grab from multiple pages — Open several Instagram tabs (profiles, hashtags), then use the popup's Multi-Page option to collect links from all tabs at once.
- Grab from a long scrolling feed — Because Instagram loads posts as you scroll, use the scroll → select → save to Review page → repeat flow, then deduplicate on the Review page (see section below).

Quick path (when all posts are already loaded):
  1. Open the profile or hashtag page in Chrome
  2. Click the Link Grabber icon
  3. Click Grab All
  4. Then on Review page use URL filters (see Useful URL Filters for Instagram below) to keep only post or profile links.
  5. Export\Copy\Open\Bookmark the result list of IG links.

Grab Instagram Links Using Selection Mode

To grab links only from a specific part of the page (e.g. one grid of posts or a block of comments):

Step 1: Open the Instagram page in Chrome and click the Link Grabber extension icon
Step 2: Hold Ctrl (or Command on Mac) and left click mouse and drag to select the area that contains the links you want
Step 3: Links inside the selection are highlighted. Copy them to clipboard or chose from other 14 quick actions or send to the Review page for filtering and post-processing

💡 Use this when you want to avoid links from the sidebar, header, or other areas. For links inside text (e.g. comments), select the text, right-click, and choose Grab Links from Selection to extract URLs from the selection.

Grab Instagram Links from Multiple Pages (Multi-Page)

To collect links from several Instagram pages in one go (e.g. multiple profiles or hashtag pages):

Step 1: Open each Instagram page in its own Chrome tab (e.g. profile A, profile B, hashtag page)
Step 2: Click the Link Grabber extension icon to open the popup
Step 3: Switch to Multi-Page scope like Win or All (or the option that uses all open tabs / selected tabs) so the extension looks at more than the current page
Step 4: Click Grab All (or pre-filter tabs before) so Link Grabber gathers URLs from all selected tabs
Step 5: On the eview page you can apply URL filters if needed (e.g. include instagram.com/p/) then export or copy

💡 You get one combined set of links from every tab you included, without copying from each page separately.

Grab Many Post Links When Instagram Loads Content by Scrolling

Instagram loads new posts as you scroll, so a single Find All often only sees what is currently on the page. To collect links from a long feed (profile grid, hashtag, or explore):

Step 1: Open the profile or hashtag page in Chrome and collect all available links either using In-Page Selection or using Grab All button from Link Grabber popup
Step 2: Send the found links to the Review page (use the action that adds links to the review list)
Step 3: Scroll down to load more posts
Step 4: Select the newly visible posts again and send them to the Review page again
Step 5: Repeat steps 4–5 as many times as needed (scroll → select → save to review)
Step 6: Open the Review page in the extension. Use Select duplicates → Clear combination to get a clean list of unique URLs
Step 7: Apply any URL filters, then export or copy the final list

🧠 This way you build one list from everything you scrolled through, with duplicates removed on the review page.

Bonus: Copy URLs of open Instagram Tabs

Link Grabber allows you to easely copy URLs of selected open browser tabs with jsut a few clicks:
  1. Select open tabs by holding Shift btn and click on tabs in Chrome browser
  2. Right click on Link Grabber app icon and choose Copy Selected Tabs
  3. Selected IG tabs link will be immediately copied to your clipboard!

Useful URL Filters for Instagram

Link Grabber lets you filter by URL pattern (include/exclude). On Instagram, these patterns help you keep only the links you need:

Goal

Include pattern

What you get

Post links only

/p/

Single image/video posts

Reels only

/reels/

Reel links

Profile links

instagram.com/ (exclude /p/, /reels/, /stories/)

Story links (when visible in the page)

Stories

/stories/

Story links (when visible in the page)

Tips:
- To get only posts, include `instagram.com/p/` and optionally exclude `instagram.com/reel/` if reels appear in the same grid.
- To get only reels, include `instagram.com/reel/`.
- To get profile URLs only (usernames), include `instagram.com/` and exclude `/p/`, `/reel/`, `/stories/` so you keep URLs that look like instagram.com/username.

🧠 Use these in the extension's URL filter (include/exclude) before copying or exporting.

Understanding Instagram Link Privacy

  • Q: Does Instagram notify if you copy a link?

No, copying a link is completely private. Instagram does not notify users when someone copies their link.
  • Q: Can someone see if you copy their Instagram link?

No, link copying is invisible to the account owner. They cannot see who copied their profile or post links.
  • Q: What does "Copy link to highlight" mean?

This is a different feature - it allows you to add a link to your Instagram story highlight, not copy a link.

Troubleshooting Instagram Link Copying

  • Problem: "Copy Link" or link copy not working

Solution: Use instagram.com in Chrome (desktop). Link Grabber works only on desktop in Chrome.
  • Problem: Copied link doesn't work

Solution: Ensure you copied the full URL. Instagram links should start with instagram.com/
  • Problem: Can't copy link from private account

Solution: You can only copy links from accounts you follow or public accounts. Private account links require following the account first.
  • Problem: Story link expired

Solution: Instagram story links expire after 24 hours. Copy the link immediately if you need it later
  • Problem: Need to copy many post links

Solution: Use the Link Grabber Chrome extension (Find All on the profile or hashtag page) for bulk extraction instead of copying one by one
